Get Paid for Blogging
It’s been months now since I started this blog site with the aid and encouragement of my love one (eherm). Actually I have heard of this blog thing few years ago but did not give any attention to it just because I wasn’t interested. Though I love to write and read, blogging never really crossed into my mind. For one, I didn’t understand it! Up until now I have no full understanding yet of this new world I got myself into. But I am so determined to really learn the stuff and even visioned myself just staying home and doing my thing while earning through writing. I was so thrilled when I received my first google adsense money just this week! Well, not really my whole hard work. Part of the motivation process as what they said. I must admit, I still have a lot to learn, definitely I will understand all these one day with my perseverance.
I learned that not only a blogger can earn through adsense but also through advertising. No, you don’t need to be a company to advertise. There’s this get paid for blogging thing, where you only have to register to a service which connects advertisers and bloggers. They will provide you with the advertisers you have to write for. Just make sure that you follow their rules and the instruction of the advertisers, otherwise your post will be rejected. Keywords are important. Then wallah! ones it’s approved you have your money. Quite exciting and amazing! Of course I will have to try this. I’m just so excited to devote my time writing about different stuff. This could be fun after all!
Let’s talk Tech – Setting up a Router
Let’s get a bit techy .. hehehe .. Here’s how to configure linksys router.
Reset router by pressing the reset button at the back (make sure router is powered up), release the reset button and unplug the power cord from the back of the router and then re-plug it back in.
1. Connect Cable Modem to the INTERNET port of the router and wired computers to the regular ports.
2. Perform a complete power cycle. Turn off Modem, Router and Computers and turn them back on after a minute in the same order. Check the Internet.
3. If you’re still unable to get online, go to your computer (make sure that’s the computer that can go online directly to the modem). Launch a browser and on the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 and hit the enter key.
4. On the logon window, leave the username and password is admin unless you have changed that. Just underneath the Setup tab, look for MAC Address Clone. Enable it and click on Clone my PCs MAC. Save the settings.
5. Go to the wireless tab and personalize your SSID. Save the settings. If you want to have a security for your wireless network, click on WIRELESS SECURITY and select the type of security you want to use, make sure you copy your key or passphrase for you to use later on in your wireless computer.
6. Go to the STATUS tab and check if you get Public IP address (e.g. 68.12.238.25). Check for Internet in your desktop. If you’re not online, do the complete powercycle ones again (step 3). Check the Internet again.
DSL Connection
1. Connect the PC to the port one of the router and the modem to the Internet port or WAN port of the router. (This PC should be the one that can get online if directly connected to the modem).
2. Go to your desktop and double click on Internet Explorer (Located on the Start Menu in Windows XP). When “Internet Explorer” opens type http://192.168.1.1 into the “Address” bar and click on Go.
3. Then a log-in window will appear. Skip user name and type admin (admin is the default password) as the password, and click OK.
4. Go back to the “Basic Setup” tab and set the “Internet Connection Type” to PPPoE.
5. Enter your username and password given by the Internet Service Provider (in email format. Example: user@isp.net) and save settings.
6. Click on WIRELESS tab and change the SSID from linksys to anything personal then save the settings. Note that, that will be your wireless name.
7. Go to the STATUS tab check if the status is connected. If not, click on connect. If you have the message that says “Cannot get an IP from PPPoE Server” or “Unable to connect to PPPoE Server” please proceed to step 11. If you are connected, you are good to go already, you may stop here and check your Internet. If not, proceed to number 9.
8. Click on the SETUP tab and click on MAC Address Clone sub tab and click on “Clone your PC’s MAC” then save the settings.
9. “Basic Setup” tab and change the Internet Connection type to Automatic Configuration DHCP and then save the settings.
10. Look for the LAN IP which is 192.168.1.1 and change it to 192.168.2.1 and save the settings.
11. Turn off all the devices for two minutes ( the modem, the Linksys router and the computer)
12. Finally, power them back on. (Starting from the modem then the router and lastly your PC).
That’s it. Hope that helps!!!
