PostHeaderIcon Out of Town for a Fresh Air

Hello all! I am back since when? oh after my 4 days of absence! I’m sorry, there’s nothing much beauty tips, shopping tips or juicy entertainment news for me to share today :( . I’ve been pretty busy lately with things in the office and with “other” stuff. But I am just excited to share my recent getaway with some friends! Yesterday, me and my team together with some friends went to Cawayanon a small part of Bukidnon, hometown of LJ, one of my colleague. The idea just came out of the blue last Wednesdaygang! Probably, we are so fed up with the “all work” life that we have. Thanks to Sheila for bringing their multicab and for convincing his nice nephew to drive us to the place. So Saturday came at 1:30 PM after our shift, we went out right away and went to the mall nearby to grab something to bite and waited for our ride. Around 2:00 PM we left CDO and arrived in Cawayanon after 30 minutes of travel (i just estimated :D ). Anyway, the place is known for their church to be miraculous where your prayers do come true (hmmmmm… evil grin?!) kidding! Big thanks to LJ’s family for being so hospitable and kind enough to harvest some of their “rambutan” fruit for us to eat..yum!! I am not a fan of rambutan but I must say, theirs is the sweetest! they also have this “lansones” fruit tree but unfortunately the fruits is not ripe yet so we were not able to taste. Our “dyosa” friend had to impress us with her spaghetti ala italiana (whatever she call it)! So off to the kitchen Dyosa and do your task while we have fun outside with the Rambutans! They had to toast some Garlic Bread as suggested and prepared by the Dyosa again..It took us prolly 30 minutes to prepare the food while munching the Rambutan. Everyone started taking out their camera phones and took pictures in all angles with the Rambutan! hahaha! Okay, so we have to hurry up, we need to head back to CDO before it gets very late since some will have to report to work very early the next day! So we head straight to the Cawayanon Golf Course and Horse back riding area. LJ took their Golf equipments for us to use (vah? can we really handle it?). Well anyway, again before we could reach the golf course, we consumed a lot of time in the entrance taking pictures of ourselves! As in promise! these bunch of ladies can’t seem to live a day without taking pictures of themselves…We didn’t really play, we just took turn in trying how to do the full golf swing. I just realized it’s kind of arm spraining? LOL! We went to horse back riding after all the poses and pa cute moments. The whole place by the way is so refreshing and the fresh air is so relaxing. This is one nice reward of being away from the city ones in a while. You get to breath fresh air where you smell no exhaust, pollution among the other stressing factors in the city life….just pure serenity….

After the little golf lesson LJ gave us we proceeded with the horse back riding…. didn’t really take us that long though. We went back to LJ’s place which is just across the clubhouse by the way and feasted on dyosa’s spaghetti and garlic bread! Everyone looked so hungry! hahaha! see what picture taking can do? We were supposed to attend the birthday party of LJ’s uncle and also stop over at Camp Philips, Bukidnon (the pineapple capital) but it was getting late so we had to head back to the city directly so we can rest and prepare for the next day’s work. Nevertheless, that was one great adventure.

Chasing – I just arrived from a tedious task we did 2 hours ago at the mall. The mall looks extra festive today. I wondered why? My colleague said it’s the City’s beauty pageant talent show in relation to the coming City Fiesta. I shrugged, uh okay…nothing really special. We decided to look around, our usual thing after a hard work in the office. Feasting our eyes with the beautiful displays of dresses, bags, shoes and accessories in the mall. We just learned that a celebrity from Manila is coming over the mall to “meet and greet” his fans. We are not really a fan of this celebrity yet still we decided to stick around and well…probably do some “chasing”? the way a die hard fan would do just to catch a glimpse of their idol and well, to take a picture with them. It so happened that I also bumped into another friend of mine who seemed to be very interested in seeing this celeb too! True enough after couple of minutes of waiting he was there! I was a little confused at first when my friend pointed out that he is there already…I said “where?” I can’t see him?! Mind you guys, the mall is not that jam packed with people. How can I not be confused when he’s wearing a polo the same color as his body guards! Geeezzz! So we wasted no time and went right close to where he is! Of course we took the liberty of taking pictures of him…..hesitant at first, the guards might forbid us in doing so. Fortunately they seem not to be tight with the security so we can freely take pictures of him. I can’t seem to find the right timing to get a good picture of him! I nearly called one of the coordinators of the show who happens to be my friend for a clear pic of him but I can see he’s so busy with stuff in his hands. Hafta to do it myself. Check out his picture below.

Marc Nelson

I can’t believe I actually indulge into following him around the mall! at least he just went to the dept. store of SM, so we didn’t really exerted that much effort chasing him around. And we didn’t really did the obvious following.. just sort of stalking perhaps? Whatever you call it. Anyways, we finally got the chance to be close to him when he settled to his seat to start the meeting and the greeting as they call it…Guess what? we were the first ones to take pictures with him! Right on sisters! LoL! Efforts paid off! He was nice, he has to be nice otherwise he won’t last long in his career. It was my first time posing with a celeb, exchanging words with a star and shaking hands with a personality. Other’s may say it’s “jologs” but trust me, it’s a nice feeling. He’s definitely great looking! His eyes they call it “chinito”, perfect set of white teeth, lean body (I’m sure undeneath that white 3/4 sleeved polo is a great body!), perfect tan..He is just gorgeous! When I shook hands with him, I was surprised how normal he feels….not that very soft hands I anticipated…Probably because he indulge into different sports which exposes him to different activities giving him such natural look and feel. Whatever! he is still gorgeous! It was all worth the wait! Nice meeting you Sports Unlimited host Marc Nelson!

journey

PostHeaderIcon Hello Daylight

This last 4 months probably have been the longest waiting in my whole life! I’ve been working in the graveyard shift and since day 1 that I started, I’ve been longing to live a normal life and sleep during the night. I thought I will never survive the ordeals of being in the graveyard shift, adding up the negative environment around me since what we hear all night are problems, targets, complaints and whining among the others! I don’t really know how I survived…I was at the verge of giving up and leave the job but some important people kept me going. Probably it’s the people whom I have learned to care kept me to my place. It was like 4 months of imprisonment, 4 months of alienating myself from the real world. Imagine me sleeping while the rest of the world is awake living a normal life! Then just when I wake up, the rest of the world comes to rest….odd but it’s happening. I am not alone I know but I bet those people in the same boat as mine think the same….If they only have the choice..If WE only have the luxury of choosing…..There were times that I asked myself, WHY? Why did I took this job? Why can’t I leave? Why do we have to work at night? Why can’t I be sick so I can stay in the day shift? All the Whys in the world! But I guess the answer is, I am destined to go through this path of life….I have missed a lot of my life way back when I was in the morning shift..Friends, early afternoon routines…everything that I do with my life being so normal. So finally! transition day is at grasp! I feel like a kinder garden child just rewarded with stars for an excellent job! I can’t contain my excitement promise!! I’m no longer the nocturnal creature as my friend said…..Morning at last! Last night I bade goodbye to my nocturnal life and 2 days from now I’ll say hello to sunrise, to the world which I have missed so much! and to my friends whom I will be messing with again! LoL! I warned them already so they shouldn’t be surprised! Geee! I’m just excited..I don’t know if I could sustain another graveyard shift or I’ll just give up finally…We’ll see.

PostHeaderIcon Celebrations

May 17, 2008 marked another important history of the Ponggoks family for one of Tatay Remy and Nanay Aileen’s adopted daughters decided to tie the knot with the person she chose to live with for the rest of her life. Ponggok Geraldine “Gie” Balaba has entered into another chapter in her life which 11 of the Ponggoks children already implored (Bessie, Em-Em, Lalai, Luamni, Novah, Leah, Delpops, Joy Ann, Ethyl, Luremy and Ralph) I hope I did not miss anyone. I didn’t realize most ponggoks got married already until this very moment! Well, perhaps because some did not give notice to the group due to circumstances they didn’t have control of. That made Gie the 12th certified beautiful ponggok then! Do I hear any violent reactions from those who are not yet confirmed? I’m sorry guys, that’s the rule, right Sir, Tatay, Ninong Rem? :P . Whose next to prove their worth? Hehehehhe.

Anyway, that became an instant triple celebration. Gie’s wedding of course, ponggoks homecoming for Maple who went home straight from Germany and sort of a reunion since most of the Ponggoks were there present to celebrate with Gie and her husband Ron. Gie’s wedding gave us the chance to reunite, just be there and share good times together as we always did whenever we have the chance. I was informed the day before that I’ll be the second reader, can I say no to the bride? So there I was on the day of the wedding “almost” late which made Luremy panic (as always) and Joseph uneasy. Who wouldn’t be uneasy when you are tasked to be the cord sponsor “impromptu” and at the same time Luremy is giving you her panicking look asking you to sit beside her so you’ll be the second reader in replace of her lateness beauty (that’s me!). Perhaps Joseph could not contain his self-relief upon seeing me gracefully marching my way to right side of the altar beside Luremy. Whew! I’m sorry guys! That was the Taxi driver’s fault routing me to a farther way. So, everything was almost perfect when suddenly Church Facilitators or whatever you call them told me they cannot allow into the pulpit and read with the dress I am wearing! Oh my! What’s wrong with my dress? See for yourself in the pictures below. I had to wear a Choir Gown as if I am graduating in High School for the 2nd time after so many years! Oh, that just made it a Quadruple Celebration then! Adding my second High School Graduation as the 4th Big event of the day! They should’ve stayed longer until the ceremony was over so Maple gets to wear that choir gown too! Unfair! Unfair! Unfair! I hope somebody took picture of me in that! I don’t see one until now! Guys, how could you not capture such important event of my life?? Thank God I didn’t see Ryan’s face while I was reading! Otherwise that could’ve been a disaster and Gie could’ve killed me for ruining her wedding! LoL! So that was another unforgettable moment courtesy of me! Who else can do that but me? Hehehehe… Oh by the way Joseph’s “proxy” role did not end at being the cord sponsor. He had to line up for the offertory! That’s right after he took off the cord from the couple. Run Joseph! Run! Heheheheh.tense na ka Sef? George and me had to march down the isle too for the Offertory! Apil na ta sa Video ani Yorge! Chance na jud! Then the brown out right after the mass made it’s way too! As if the bride didn’t have enough to worry on her special day. Thanked goodness the electricity was back at the middle of the picture taking. Inspite of that everything went well in the wedding. We had to wait for the picture2x with the Bride’s Friends.. Even joined when the Groom’s friends were called for the picture taking! The crime has started..It’s gonna be a long night for picture taking!
