PostHeaderIcon Avoid Hair Loss

hair_loss1It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

A number of things causes hair loss. 3 or 4 months after major surgery or illness. Hair loss also can be related to stress. Such cause is temporary. Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they’ve had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

The question now is, how can we healthily avoid hair loss? Below are 9 healthy and practical ways to help alleviate or prevent hair loss.

PostHeaderIcon Top 10 Hair Dying Mistakes

colored-hair

I am planning to have my hair dyed for a change since I am kind of bored already wearing my long black hair. I’ve tried curling it last year and actually had it highlighted before that. Now that my hair is back to it’s normal color and texture, I want to do something else with it. As usual I want to do it with my friends. We usually do our own hair except for the cutting though. I know that dyeing hair without assistance is sometimes necessary, so I want to take the proper precautions to ensure our dye job is as good-looking and painless as possible.

Here is an article that will guide us in achieving our desired result and avoid disastrous outcome.

PostHeaderIcon How to Rebond Hair the Cheapest Way

Finally my long wait is over! I just had my hair rebonded and guess what? I did not really spend so much to have my hair done (rebonded). I always had my hair straight but then I got bored with it and decided to have it curled. You know girls, always worried of how we look..I actually liked the curl effects on me, it gave me a different look…Until again I got bored of it and also I began to worry since I noticed frequent hair falls and my hair became hard to manage..I am almost afraid of combing it because of the hair fall whenever I do that and the breakage is just terrible! So then I decided to restore my old hair and old me but I was worried of the expenses because my hair is very long (waste length). I’ll be spending a fortune if I’ll have this done in the parlor. So me and my friends decided to do it ourselves!! (geezzz! none of us ever did this before promise!) surprisingly I did not worry a bit! Our philisophy was “As long as we know how to read and follow the instruction, we will not go wrong!” So off we went to a beauty care store and asked the sales lady which hair rebonding treatment is best to use, she gave us a lot of tips and told us, there’s not much of difference between manufacturers. It all depends on how the chemical is applied and how the rebond is done. Okay, so we learned a lot from her. For my hair I decided to have AhGlow since according to the saleslady it is what my favorite parlor uses and it’s also a bit cheaper compared to Wella. For these 5 I spent 1,100 PHP and mind you, I did not consume all of it so I can still use it next time, my mom wanted to use it anyway :) . When I went back to the office, we were happy to know that a lot noticed and gave me great comments and even asked who did it and how much did I spend for it!

I’ll show you how to do it and the result of my hair after the jump..

Ingredients:

¼ cup lemon juice

Method

lemonsugarsaucepandropdrop2

Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice all together in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. Keep stirring the mixture to avoid burning. Stir it until all the sugar has melted, and you have a thick brown liquid. To know if it’s ready, pour a drop of the mixture into a glass of water, if the drop spreads, it is not ready. You want a consistent drop. Let it cool slightly before using it. It can be stored in a heat proof container for later use.

Store it in fridge. It can be easily warmed up in the microwave.

It a natural home made wax that can be used for waxing for arms, legs, underarms, upper lips and eyebrows.

How to use

Before applying wax, make sure you apply cornstarch or baby powder to the area, as it absorbs moisture and allows the hair to be removed much more smoothly. Use cotton muslin wax strips that you can pick up from any beauty store or cut up old cotton shirts into strips to use.

Some don’t use wax strips in removing hairs. Just warm it up between your hands smushing it, snapping it apart until it’s a bit firmer than play dough. when you store it in the fridge it should be very hard
