PostHeaderIcon 10 Reasons WHY New Year’s Resolution Fail

new-year-resolution.jpgMost of us make it a point to change something or set goals for the new year to come. New Year’s Resolution, everyone has it but sad to say more than 50% of the population fail to stick to their resolution. It’s been happening year after year. Don’t you think it’s frustrating to actually set your goal and end up with no accomplishments? What could be the reason why we are being inconsistent with our resolutions? I stumbled upon this 10 reasons by Laura Berman Fortgang, a pioneer in life coaching field and the author of Living Your Best Life.

1. You haven’t made room in your life for a new priority. The odds are that something’s got to go if you’re really serious about achieving a new goal. Determine and declare your top five priorities and be willing to let go of the rest–at least for now.

2. You’re trying to change something that’s a symptom of a bigger issue. You may be trying to change a bad habit or a certain behavior, like smoking or overeating, by developing more self-discipline. Why not do the real work by looking within yourself to understand how you got there in the first place?

May 17, 2008 marked another important history of the Ponggoks family for one of Tatay Remy and Nanay Aileen’s adopted daughters decided to tie the knot with the person she chose to live with for the rest of her life. Ponggok Geraldine “Gie” Balaba has entered into another chapter in her life which 11 of the Ponggoks children already implored (Bessie, Em-Em, Lalai, Luamni, Novah, Leah, Delpops, Joy Ann, Ethyl, Luremy and Ralph) I hope I did not miss anyone. I didn’t realize most ponggoks got married already until this very moment! Well, perhaps because some did not give notice to the group due to circumstances they didn’t have control of. That made Gie the 12th certified beautiful ponggok then! Do I hear any violent reactions from those who are not yet confirmed? I’m sorry guys, that’s the rule, right Sir, Tatay, Ninong Rem? :P . Whose next to prove their worth? Hehehehhe.

Anyway, that became an instant triple celebration. Gie’s wedding of course, ponggoks homecoming for Maple who went home straight from Germany and sort of a reunion since most of the Ponggoks were there present to celebrate with Gie and her husband Ron. Gie’s wedding gave us the chance to reunite, just be there and share good times together as we always did whenever we have the chance. I was informed the day before that I’ll be the second reader, can I say no to the bride? So there I was on the day of the wedding “almost” late which made Luremy panic (as always) and Joseph uneasy. Who wouldn’t be uneasy when you are tasked to be the cord sponsor “impromptu” and at the same time Luremy is giving you her panicking look asking you to sit beside her so you’ll be the second reader in replace of her lateness beauty (that’s me!). Perhaps Joseph could not contain his self-relief upon seeing me gracefully marching my way to right side of the altar beside Luremy. Whew! I’m sorry guys! That was the Taxi driver’s fault routing me to a farther way. So, everything was almost perfect when suddenly Church Facilitators or whatever you call them told me they cannot allow into the pulpit and read with the dress I am wearing! Oh my! What’s wrong with my dress? See for yourself in the pictures below. I had to wear a Choir Gown as if I am graduating in High School for the 2nd time after so many years! Oh, that just made it a Quadruple Celebration then! Adding my second High School Graduation as the 4th Big event of the day! They should’ve stayed longer until the ceremony was over so Maple gets to wear that choir gown too! Unfair! Unfair! Unfair! I hope somebody took picture of me in that! I don’t see one until now! Guys, how could you not capture such important event of my life?? Thank God I didn’t see Ryan’s face while I was reading! Otherwise that could’ve been a disaster and Gie could’ve killed me for ruining her wedding! LoL! So that was another unforgettable moment courtesy of me! Who else can do that but me? Hehehehe… Oh by the way Joseph’s “proxy” role did not end at being the cord sponsor. He had to line up for the offertory! That’s right after he took off the cord from the couple. Run Joseph! Run! Heheheheh.tense na ka Sef? George and me had to march down the isle too for the Offertory! Apil na ta sa Video ani Yorge! Chance na jud! Then the brown out right after the mass made it’s way too! As if the bride didn’t have enough to worry on her special day. Thanked goodness the electricity was back at the middle of the picture taking. Inspite of that everything went well in the wedding. We had to wait for the picture2x with the Bride’s Friends.. Even joined when the Groom’s friends were called for the picture taking! The crime has started..It’s gonna be a long night for picture taking!
