PostHeaderIcon Team Bonding – Camiguin

October 12, 2007 7:00 AM – Logout

We are bound to conquer one of Philippine’s pride… no less than the enchanted Camiguin Island! It has been a long overdue planned trip (team building as we call it). We’ve been planning the said trip for almost 8 months now. We were just waiting for a perfect timing to visit the place. And finally! planning has become a reality! The night before our most awaited trip, everyone arrived in the office prepared, things were packed.. we are all set!

We left cagayan de oro exactly 7 in the morning after we logged out from work. Everyone settled inside the van. Inspite of the fact that we just came from a night shift work, everyone seemed to be so alive and active! We are supposed to be sleeping to gain our strenght back from working all night. But Spartans are naturally strong and tough people! We had so much fun from the beginning of the trip… how much more when we get to our distination!!?!girls waiting for the barge

We arrived at the balingoan barge station after barely 2 hours of travel from cagayan de oro. We had to wait for the next barge since the first barge can’t accommodate our van anymore. Of course what else is there left to do while waiting? Our favorite past time, picture2x! Shortly, we were inside the barge already and ready to sail across the island. We never got bored of waiting til we arrive, we busied ourselves in taking pictures at all angles! See the proof! :D barge

We arrived at Camiguin around 1 afternoon, we went ahead to Lagoon, a place known for its delicious seafoods. We ordered our food only to find out that we have to wait for 40 minutes for our orders to be served. Jara being so starved lamented! For the life of Jara, we decided to cancel the order and left the place :( . Sayang…. well to our dismay, Jara the reason of the “resto walkout” ate while we were on our way to Mambajao, she munched over her left Jabee food. We arrived at this restaurant (sorry I forgot the name), basta just beside Landbank Camiguin, so those who wants to withdraw can withdraw na rin, hitting two birds in one stone.

After satisfying our hunger, we went straight to Katibawasan Falls. Though I’ve been to Camiguin before, I didn’t had the chance to set foot in katibawasanthe said place. Our first official stop! The enchanted Katibawasan Falls. We were so fascinated with the falls…. I wonder if there’s anyone who was able to set foot at its peak… We’ve been awake 24 hours already! but that didn’t stop us from dipping into the cold waters of katibawasan.. it felt great and very cold! ggrrrrrr!! Here’s a pic of it.

Next Stop …. not to any tourist spot just yet… we had to go back to Mambajao to market for our dinner. We will do the cooking ourselves when we get to Rosell’s house, our official residence while we were in the island. While in Mamabajao, some took the advantage of buying “pasalubong”, the ever famous pastels at VJandeep’s main store in Mambajao. Hurry! let’s go to our next destination!!

Girls in ArdentSo we went right ahead to the next tourist spot… The Ardent Hot Spring. There were this little kids in their Hawaiian costume dancing infront of this “pasalubong” store outside the spring. Geeezzz! were they good! yes they were! Guess what else surprised us in Ardent?!! Well, no less than the Human Resource department team of our office! hehehehe… and according to them, the accounting department was there earlier as well.. seemed like a holiday for L2S people huh. We wasted no time, we dive right in!! We chose to be in the 38 degrees celcius water…It was hot at first but its tolerable and you’ll get the hang of it… it’s therapeutic actually. We spent our time there, talking, laughing, sight seeing! heheheheh and sharing out of this world stuff!

We decided to get some rest after Ardent so we head to our official residence in Camiguin, no less than the Pole’s residence! I can’t remember how long the travel to their place was…Well on the way to Rosell’s place, we decided to drop by “Walkway” the countless steps going to heaven! hehehehehe.. we can’t count how many steps one has to take to reach the top…let’s save it for holy week :D . We dropped by the pasalubong store where they sell t-shirts, blouses, sarong, shorts… everything with camiguin prints on it. We got carried away with the little shopping that it took us more than an hour picking on their stuff! hehehe….earth calling you guys! we are starving! we still have a long way to go and we still have to cook our dinner! geeezzz! talking about shoppoholics! yeah yeah! we’re coming!

So finally we reached Pole’s residence.. we were welcomed by Rosell’s parents and siblings :) .. Automatically Shella and Jayzar conquered their kitchen!! We are starving, can’t blame them! hehehehe.. the rest of us settled in the sofa to watch TV, fix our things, some did washed up and well just did our own things… Until dinner is ready!!! everyone rushed into the table! We had tinola, kinilaw and sinugba! geezz! yummy yummy!! We were supposed to morning the night but most of us can’t endure another sleepless night so we had to retire to bed and have a good noutside pole’s residenceight sleep. Tomorrow will be another day to have fun around Camiguin Island.

We woke up around 7 already in the morning… early huh! hehehehehe…We can’t help it! the place is so conducive for sleeping! hehehe..Anyway, we had our quick breakfast and while we were having it. Rosell’s mom went inside with loads of ‘lansones’ fresh from harvest! wow! thank you super cool mom! That’s our ultimate pasalubong! :) … Thanks to the whole family for the warm welcome. Though it was brief, we enjoyed our stay. And we are looking forward to see you again next time!

First stop for the day – SODA Swimming Poolsoda

Plan was just to drop by and see the place..Picture2x galore! But, the water was soooooooo inviting that we were not able to resist dipping in! True enough, the water was so refreshing.. not too cold not warm either…. It’s not artificial, water is natural so no chlorine no chemicals whatsoever. Perfect to start our day right and fresh! The pool was deep, 6 ft so to those who don’t know how to swim… careful! :) . Jara almost drowned! gosh! I said be careful! El hombre shot guys while we’re enjoying the pool!

ruinsOkay so we’re done! Let’s get going guys! Off to the Old Church’s Ruins and Sunkin cemetery… As I read the history ofsunken that old church’s ruins, I imagined how tragic it was! Seeing the remains of that volcanic eruption made me realize there is no human weapon that can stop any disaster nature is bound to cause. Makaligtas ba ang ruins from our poses? of course not! Pose here! pose there! emote ever! After all the emote, we went to the famous Sunken Cemetery, according to Rosell, that big cross is just a symbol… in memory of those graves were burried underneath. Again, picture2x!!

Okay, so we’re done! next stop, the White Island! Why is it called white island? obviously because of its sand that is white! LoL! It is situated in white islandthe middle of the ocean so we had to ride a boat to reach the place. Around 11 o’clock we were there already. Gosh! init kaau! but that didn’t stop us from taking over the place! We ordered our lunch there, grilled fish and tinola @ 200/kilo, free na luto…While waiting, picture galore napod!! Gibati mi og ka model so I took the freedom of directing them! LoL! grabe! millions of pictures! hehehehehe…Girls in their bikini’s chuva and all! the dashing J-zar, the ever bench model John, the hearthrob ng bayan Charlie, the sensual diva Rosell, the charming LJ, the innocent Jara, the seductive Shella, the playful Franz…. they were my models!! check out our pictures www.picnuts.com/spartans. Too bad Jazz was not feeling well so she had to stay in our cottage and rest. We left the place around 1 in the afternoon. We had to catch the 2:00 o’clock ferry to Balingoan. Though that was just a short trip. It gave us the chance to get to know each other, enjoy our company and most of all, it gave us the opportunity to bond not just as a team but as friends who will always be there for each other. We went back to CDO not only bringing the memories of seeing the beautiful and historical places we’ve been in Camiguin but bringing as well the memories we all shared as friends in this wonderful island called Camiguin.

We are looking forward to our next “trip”!!! White Water Rafting! altogether now! Harooh!!

PostHeaderIcon Night out for two

I’m still a bit dizzy while writing this…My head is aching as if I haven’t recovered from my 3 days flu yet…I’m thinking what happened? Oh yeah I remember! I was with my buddy Rosell last night!! Let’s see what happened……Think! Think!! Who says 2 girlfriends alone in a bar can’t have fun?! Last night proved them all wrong! T’was a great night in spite of being left alone by our so called friends :) . We were supposed to be with the rest of our girls but things didn’t go well for them so we ended up just the two of us hanging out. We thought it would be boring. But heck!! the night turned out to be so much fun! Geezz! though we were dismayed that our friends couldn’t come along, and we were informed late! and that we were already inside the bar when each one of them said they changed plans! we were still set for a fun filled night! what the heck! let’s party without them! We were so recharged considering we started our night with a relaxing and soothing 1 hr and 30 minutes body massage at one of the finest spa in the city. We had a nice and light dinner before we went to the bar to chill out and supposed to be waiting for friends to come. Thanks to Charlie and his girl Ara for keeping us company for a while at least :) . We settled in a comfortable spot inside and lamented first at friends who didn’t come but that was just about it. The night is too comfy feeding on such negative emotions. Let’s get it on Rosell!! It’s good that both of us are capable of drinking and staying sober at the same time!! hehehehee.. Hell yeah!! We’re drinkers but we never get wasted… secret?? we know when to stop :) . Around 11:30 party people started pouring in and we started partying! It’s as if like everybody else inside we had our own crowd, surrounded by friends and acquaintances…fact was! it was just the two of us! hehehehe… We were occupying a quite spacious spot that made it too obvious of us being alone!! hmmmm.. 4 bean bags unoccupied but nobody dared sharing that space….ehermmm. I wonder why?? perhaps they thought we are waiting for friends or we are too much to handle? LOL! Whatever! We danced, we drank, we smoked, we chatted, smiled at familiar faces or even to those unfamiliar faces, exchanged hi, hellos to some acquaintances we bumped into inside, we ate and we drank some more! After all that’s what we came for! Fun, fun and more fun! thanks party people!! That was one heck of a night! Thanks to my buddy Rosell for always giving me such great company!
